Vidur Gupta was born in New Delhi, India. He grew up surrounded by family of artists, ranging in everything from traditional sculpture and painting to interior design, creative art direction, and fashion design. In University he focused his energies on the sciences, and used his down time to nurture his creative energies.
He graduated with a Bachelors of Sciences in two majors, Electronic Media Arts and Communications along with Computer Science focusing on Game Design, in 2008, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) located in upstate New York. He then went on to get his MFA from the Academy of Art University in Visual Effects and Animation, focusing on Motion Graphics, in 2011.
During his undergraduate studies he also worked for such various game studios as Agora Studios and Vicarious Visions, a company owned by Activision, as a game designer, and conceptual artist for such clients as Dreamworks, Sony and including such titles as Guitar Hero.
Vidur has been freelancing for 8 years; his clients include Entertainment Design Company, 2600hz, Studio 400a, Blue Sky Studios, Delhi University, Mayo College. He has done everything from Producing, Branding, Website Look and Design, Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, Marketing and Social Strategies, Photography and Videography.
He has also taught various classes and workshops at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Academy of Art University, Vasant Valley School and California College of the Arts. He is currently teaching Motion Graphics I to the undergraduate and graduate students at the Academy of Art University.
Most recently he finished working on visual development for the movie After Earth at Spy Post, due to release in the summer of 2013.
I hope to one day start a production house in Delhi, India for commercial work and my secret passion of making opening title sequences.
